Notes: One – ~Women Who Run With the Wolves~

This is going to be the third time I have ventured to read this book by, Clarissaa Pinkola Estes. The first time was at the age of thirty – nine, out of a curious nature, the second time was the year, 2001 following the events of September, 11 – I was afraid. Now it is 2007, the New Year. I picked up this marvel at the age of fifty – three, just because …

It would seem every ten years or less I find myself searching for my copy and not remembering where I placed it or if I gave it away – I have owned to date five copies  and only one copy remains with me. It is the tattered copy, with folded pages that have the book appear twice it’s thickness.

I am not very resourceful as a counselor for female friends, daughters, aunts, my mother, and sister – I recommend books. I write down authors and titles on lime green stickies while my female comrades stand sniffling and wiping tears from their puffy eyes.

This book I give with love in hopes they will devour its contents as I have and come back saying,   … I understand …

Each time I read the contents I find more and more information about myself. More of the writing pertains to me, more of the concepts I seem to grasp and the more I ask myself the important questions than look for answers.

And so begins my journal and journey on ~Women Who Run With the Wolves~.
